Supreme Court Decision Reversing the Appellate Court!

Here it is – a Supreme Court decision reversing the Appellate Court!

“Personal Injury resolved on the merits when it should have been resolved by a jury. The Court’s function is not to weigh the evidence and determine the outcome, but only to determine if a material dispute of fact existed”

Make sure there is no other way…

Some people assume that if their spouse cheats on them, the marriage should be dissolved. In most instances, it is probably true.  However, there are many people who are able to love their partner even despite the cheating.

These people also figure out ways in which the marriage can continue to work, whether it means having an “open marriage” in which both people can see other people or if they rebuild their trust with their partner in some other way.  Maybe even forgive.

The important thing to remember with cheating is that it hurts to be betrayed, but it does not necessarily mean that your partner does not love you anymore. By working with a counselor and looking within yourself, you may be able to move beyond the incident and maintain a healthy marriage.

There are many reasons to ask the question: “How do you Know When There is no other way besides divorce?” The thing to remember is that you can talk to a counselor before making a final decision to end the marriage. If you are sure that you tried everything else and speaking to a divorce lawyer is the only solution you have left, at least you know that you gave it a try…

Family Law – What is it?

Family law is an area of the law that deals with family-related issues and domestic relations including:

  • the nature of marriage, civil unions, and domestic partnerships;
  • issues arising throughout marriage, including spousal abuse, legitimacy, adoption, surrogacy, child abuse, and child abduction
  • the termination of the relationship and ancillary matters including divorce, annulment, property settlements, alimony, and parental responsibility orders (in the United States, child custody and visitation, child support and alimony awards).
  • Paternity fraud and testing
  • Juvenile Adjudication

This list is by no means dispositive of the potential issues that come through the family court system. In many jurisdictions in the United States, the family courts see the most crowded dockets. Litigants representative of all social and economic classes are parties within the system.
